Shelley Dell

Shelley joined Weightmans in September 2023 as a Principal Associate and experienced Advocate in our London office.

She specialises in advising police forces across the country on a wide range of matters including police misconduct, operational issues and Civil Protective Orders. Shelley is known for providing clear, sensible and practical advice on often complex issues.  As well as advising on technical legal matters, Shelley is regularly instructed by Police as an advocate and therefore prosecutes on their behalf.

Shelley is a fair but robust prosecutor when instructed in matters of domestic violence, closure orders, sexual risk and sexual harm prevention orders, stalking protection orders and modern slavery and trafficking orders. Shelley provides training to Officers of all levels on a variety of issues and has recently been our lead in developing a training programme for Officers and Inspectors on the Government’s new pilot of Domestic Abuse Protection Orders.
