Rachel is an Associate in our Casualty team based in our Leicester office. She works with a number of police forces dealing with a variety of work.

This includes applying for civil protection orders such as:

  • Stalking Protection Orders;
  • Domestic Violence Protection Orders;
  • Slavery and Trafficking Risk Orders;
  • Sexual Risk and Sexual Harm Prevention Orders;
  • Closure Orders; and
  • Anti-Social Behaviour Orders/Gang Injunctions.

These applications are made within the Magistrates Court and the County Court.

Rachel also provides operational advice and training to police forces and deals with family court disclosures, Firearm Appeals and POCA matters.

Prior to Rachel joining Weightmans she worked inhouse at Kent Police Legal Services, for several years championing protecting victims from abuse, specifically violence against women and girls and regularly conducted training to all officers.

Rachel qualified as a solicitor within a Local Authority and specialised in the child protection department, dealing with all aspects of child protection work, including care proceedings and pre-proceedings, adoption, and international childcare cases.
