Katy is a Principal Associate based in the Newcastle office.
Katy has 20 years’ experience of resolving claims made against NHS organisations, dealing with high value and complex claims. Katy is known for taking a client-focused approach to claims. She is adept at conducting mediations and settlement meetings without recourse to counsel, adopting a reasonable and fair outlook. She is skilled at dealing with claims sensitively and pragmatically.
Katy has recently led on a significant team secondment for a key client and has used her skills in order to assist the client to meet their objectives.
Katy is passionate about using technology to deliver the best possible outcome for the client and has headed up a team wide project to do this.
Katy has a strong client focus and has developed a considerable regional network, speaking at local events and delivering training to clinicians and patient safety team on issues such as learning lessons from claims, informed consent and the claims process.
