John Quicler

John is a Principal Associate based in our Liverpool office who has vast experience of insolvency and recoveries action on behalf of clients.

John qualified as a solicitor in 2013. He attended Liverpool John Moores University for his law degree and completed his training contract with Liverpool City Council. John recently joined Weightmans LLP in March 2024 and was previously based at an international law firm for a period of 10 years.

John has specialist knowledge of banking and finance litigation having acted for leading receivable and asset-based lenders on a national basis for a consistent number of years.

He regularly advises both private and public sector clients on strategies to maximise the realisation of debts and enforcement of security through cost effective solutions. In particular, the use of insolvency proceedings for the collection of debt, complex debt recovery action, resolution of contractual disputes, guarantee and indemnity claims, investigations and litigation in respect of fraudulent transactions. 

John began his legal career in the insurance fraud area following which he has an ability to detect and prevent fraud which has enabled him to secure significant recoveries on behalf of clients.

He is a trusted adviser to the firm’s clients, who consider him a first call on guidance for debt recovery assistance given his wealth of experience, tailored approach and prompt turnarounds. John is able to guide clients through the complete debt recovery process from initial advice, issuing of proceedings to enforcement options. He also has experience in enforcing awarded Judgments in foreign jurisdictions and has established connections with a number of law firms abroad.

John has continuously been recognised in the Legal 500 as a Rising Star/Leading Associate for debt recovery services and a Key Lawyer for banking and finance litigation work.
