Faye Swales

Faye is a Principal Associate in our Healthcare team in Leeds.

Faye has over a decade of experience in managing clinical negligence claims for NHS Resolution on behalf of NHS Trusts and GPs. She has handled a wide variety of claims throughout her career including those involving neurological, spinal and fatal injuries.

She has experience of claims with multiple defendants and claims for contribution and is well versed in advising on apportionment. She also has experience of claims involving fundamental dishonesty and contempt of court. 

Faye is an advocate for ADR and has participated in numerous round table meetings and mediations, the latter both with and without counsel. She prefers to adopt a collaborative approach to resolving claims in order to achieve a swift and fair resolution at proportionate cost.

In addition to the day to day handing of claims, Faye has experience of delivering training sessions both in house and externally on topics including disclosure, quantum and fatal claims as well as speaking at Claims Forum events.

Faye also has experience of defending medical malpractice claims against private providers
