Amy began working at Weightmans in June 2021 after qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2020. Having 6 years of prior file handling experience before qualifying, Amy previously worked for police and local government clients in defending personal injury, malfeasance and motor claims.
Since joining the Police Core team in early 2023, Amy has developed a specialist area in assisting client police forces with disclosure queries and applications, particularly where active criminal investigations cross over with family or civil proceedings (historic or ongoing). Amy has extensive experience in assisting officers to apply for relevant disclosure and also with seeking to vary or resist orders made against the police for disclosure by the courts. Amy is able to provide ad hoc advice where required in relation to disclosure to police clients.
