Abigail qualified as a Solicitor in January 2021 and is an Associate in our Wills, Trusts and Estates team based in Birmingham. Abigail is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) after obtaining a distinction in her STEP qualification.
Abigail has experience in all elements of Private Client work including:
- Advising individuals and families in relation to their estate planning matters and on how to achieve their aims with a combination of Wills, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney. Abigail prides herself on working collaborative with their financial planners and accountants to achieve a holistic result for her clients.
- Acting as Attorney for clients in respect of their Property and Finances and offering them the support they need with managing their finances;
- The administration of both taxable and non-taxable estates including complex Grant applications;
- Mitigating inheritance tax whilst administering complex estates including the use of transferable residence nil rate band, downsizing allowances, business property relief and quick succession relief;
- Acting on behalf of Local Authorities in administering estates as Creditors to enable them to recover unpaid care fees;
- Advising on, creating and administering Vulnerable Beneficiary Trusts for clients who require assistance in management of their compensation payments, financial settlement orders post-divorce or inheritance.
- Advising on, creating and administering Discretionary Trusts, and Interest in Possession Trusts; and
- Advising on rectification of defective Trust documents and carrying out corrective drafting and compliance work.
