The move represents a significant investment from the firm into its Scottish practice, as well as demonstrating its commitment to ESG. The Ink Building is an environmentally friendly space with an EPC rating of A, refurbishments done using mineral paint, as well as boasting solar PV and heat pump installations, and multiple wellness amenities for employees.
Weightmans has signed a 10-year lease with Ambassador Group and will occupy 4,520 sq ft on the top floor of the seven-story building. 34 staff have moved from the old office location on West George Street.

Claire McCracken, partner and Glasgow office head, said:
“This move represents an exciting new era for Weightmans in Scotland, and its commitment to growing the practice here in Glasgow. The new office has been designed with our people front of mind and sees our three core values embedded at its heart, offering opportunity for exciting new projects, fostering creativity and teamwork and embracing new technology to help us work smarter and more sustainably.
“We are excited to show off our stunning seventh floor views of the Kingston Bridge and beyond, and we look forward to welcoming our clients and contacts to our fabulous new space.”
Ambassador Group has been advised jointly by Savills and CBRE to let the office space at the Ink Building, with other tenants being Eviden Technology Services Ltd and Energy Law Unlimited LLP.
David Cobban, head of Savills Glasgow office and director in the office agency team, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome Weightmans to The Ink Building, our journey together to create a space that truly reflects their values and serves its people and clients has been a fruitful one.”
The new office offers employees both formal and informal meeting spaces, pods to allow them to take time away from their desk, a wellbeing room, and a social hub. It also boasts three meeting rooms in the client suite, the largest able to seat up to 28 people for seminars.
Weightmans’ Glasgow office offers a complete range of legal services to businesses and individuals, serving the people of Glasgow and throughout Scotland, covering areas such as Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Perth and Kinross and the Scottish Highlands and islands.
The news follows a year of growth for the office, after winning Law Firm of the Year (wider UK HQ) at The Herald Law Awards of Scotland 2024, and the announcement of several top hire appointments to the practice.
