Weightmans has been shortlisted for seven categories at the Legal 500 ESG Awards 2025.
The nominations, which include ESG law firm of the year, ESG initiative of the year and best environmental strategy, come shortly after the firm was ranked as the second-best performing law firm among the UK’s top 75 for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2024 by The Lawyer’s Emissions Tracker.

Weightmans was nominated at the Legal 500 ESG Awards in the following seven categories:

- ESG: Law Firm Initiative of the Year
- Governance: Initiative/Team of the Year
- Environmental/Sustainability: Champion of the Year – Abhay Srivastava
- ESG: Rising Star of the Year – Nick Barker
- ESG: Champion of the Year (Private Practice) – Simon Colvin
Weightmans also maintained its place in The Legal 500’s UK Green Guide for the second consecutive year, cited as a law firm that is “leading the way in sustainability”.
In 2024, the firm’s ESG lead Simon Colvin was named in The Legal 500’s Green Ambassadors list, highlighting his exceptional engagement with sustainability matters. Weightmans also received the highest possible rating - platinum - from global sustainability intelligence platform EcoVadis and achieved ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certifications for the fifth consecutive year.
