Weightmans' award-winning innovation team has launched a new book packed with insight on how to harness and implement innovation in a law firm.
Penned by Stuart Whittle and Catriona Wolfenden, who lead the firm’s Product and Innovation Department, Innovation in Law Firms: Implementing Successful Projects focuses on the innovation process, from pilot to adoption and everything in between (whether that be within the law firm itself or undertaken by the law firm’s clients).
Divided into four parts to reflect the innovation lifecycle of examine, explore, develop and reflect, the new title is a practical guide for those starting or doing innovation in law firms. Students keen to know how innovation is implemented in practice will also find it useful.
Stuart Whittle, partner and Chief Innovation and Technology Officer at Weightmans, said:
“While innovation within a legal setting is a hot topic in academic and professional research, there remains a lack of guidance on the practicalities of getting innovation right. Innovation in Law Firms attempts to fill that gap, between theoretical guidance - exploring the highs and lows of innovating in law firms – and offering practical steps that can be taken to mitigate some of the potential pitfalls. It was important to us that this book was accessible to those tasked with doing innovation in law firms.”
Catriona Wolfenden, partner and Director of Product and Innovation, said:
“We wanted to create a book that fully encapsulated our See the Possibility mindset. At Weightmans, we work together as a team to come up with solutions to our clients’ problems and to make our own processes more efficient. In a world where technology and innovation are becoming a real differentiator in the industry, this mindset is essential for future growth and success.
“Whether at the start or part way through an innovation journey, we hope this book provides readers with essential guidance on specific issues as they arise as part of the innovation lifecycle.”
Innovation in Law Firms: Implementing Successful Projects, by Stuart Whittle and Catriona Wolfenden, is published by Globe Law and Business, and retails at £149.00.
