The awards seek to celebrate and reward innovation, dedication, and excellence within the cyber insurance industry. CyXcel — a specialist digital transformation and cybersecurity business wholly owned by Weightmans LLP, which launched earlier this year — features in the Cyber Law Firm of the Year category.

CyXcel is a unique cyber security business that fuses legal, technical, data, and crisis management expertise for the first time.

Edward Lewis, Co-founder and Managing Partner at CyXcel, said:

“This is fantastic news and gives us great confidence that we are bringing something new and exciting to the market. A huge congratulations to everyone on the CyXcel team for their continued expertise, leadership and innovation.”

Companies, teams and individuals from across the European cyber insurance industry were invited to nominate themselves and others in a variety of categories each carefully designed to reward every aspect of cyber insurance, including carriers, brokers, managing general agents (MGAs), insurtech providers, SMEs, and individuals.

The winner for each category will be decided in the coming weeks by an expert panel of international judges, before the ceremony, which takes place in London in February,

Helen Raff, Divisional Director, Intelligent Insurer, said: “We are very excited to announce the finalists for the awards and have been overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of entries.

“We’d like to congratulate those who have got through to this stage, and we can’t wait to announce the winners at the awards ceremony in London on February 7."
