30 April 2025 | 12:00 - 13:00 | Zoom
Hosted by our water industry experts, Clive Mottram, Nick Barker and Aidan Thomson will be discussing PFAS (per-and poly fluoroalkyl substances) - a chemical family consisting of at least 5,000 individual substances.
They are sometimes referred to as ‘forever chemicals’ because of their persistence in the environment. It is this very property that is causing PFAS to be found to be present in many different environments and growing attention is being given to better understanding and mitigating the potential for any public health impacts.
Water companies are already experiencing this with the DWI looking to improve knowledge about the location, types, and levels of specific PFAS. The DWI has also provided early guidance levels intended to afford a precautionary margin of safety in advance of further international research results on PFAS toxicology.
We look to unpack developments in this area, looking at current legal requirements and exploring potential future developments in this fast moving topic.
This event will be hosted on Zoom. If you have any restrictions within your organisation using Zoom please raise with our event co-ordinator, Kieran Scott.
