Case study: advising Wakefield MBC on a complex Court of Protection application

Reading time: 0 minute read

We act on behalf of Wakefield Metropolitan Borough Council in an application to the Court of Protection regarding a young person.

Sadly P’s mother died and his father, a foreign national was in prison. An application was necessary in order to authorise P’s care arrangements and deprivation of liberty.

During the course of the proceedings, P’s father who has record of violent crime has been released from prison and there are ongoing issues regarding contact, the care arrangements and P’s access to others in the wider community due to concerns around matters in which P has been involved whilst contact has taken place.
