Following internal investigation and report by the Royal College of Surgeons into care provided by a Maxilo Facial surgeon, it was clear that there were significant issues dating back some years.
We were instructed in relation to a large number of claims. To ensure this very sensitive and high profile matter could be dealt with expeditiously and cost effectively we agreed a comprehensive claims handling protocol with the lead solicitors under which we are now handed over 130 clinical negligence claims.
In addition we have supported the Trust on a range of legal and regulatory issues and covered aspects such as media and reputational management, patient safety and learning, disclosure duties and the duty of candour. These cases are highly sensitive.
